et us assume that you have taken full advantage of the scarf benefits
and already have a few scarfs at home. Now the question turns to how
exactly you are wearing that scarf. Hopefully not just half-hazardly
draped around your neck. If you are no worries, I myself had the same
attitude not long ago, this guide will help you find the right style for
you.
There are four major ways to tie your scarf; the slip knot,
the wraparound, the necktie, and the four in hand. They almost all look
completely different, and some vary in difficulty. For instance, if you
are in a hurry I would not suggested tying a four in hand knot.
The Slip Knot:
The
Slip Knot is one of the simplest ways to tie and wear your scarf.
Simply drape the scarf hanging around your neck with one end lower than
the other. With the longer side of the scarf in hand pull it around the
back of your neck and then back down through the loop you have created.
Done! That's all it takes to tie a slip knot scarf.
The Wraparound:
The
wraparound is actually my favorite method to tie a scarf. First make
the scarf drape in your hand at the center point so both ends are
equally long. Now take the join of the scarf and drape it around your
neck. Then you want to pull the two separated ends through the joint on
the other side of your neck. After some adjustments you will have one
great looking neck accessory!
The Necktie:
The
necktie knotting method is considered one of the most professional ways
to tie your tie. In the end it will resemble an actual tie knot. Simply
drape the scarf around your neck with one side longer than the other
side. Then you will wrap the longer end of the scarf around the shorter
end. Now you will want to pull the longer end up and through the empty
space that you have created. Much like a regular tie now you pull down
through the loop created in the front. Lastly just slide the knot up or
down as desired for warmth or comfort. This is a great classy knot
method that can be worn with a suit and cufflinks at any business
meeting.
The Four in Hand:
The last and
final method of tying your scarf is the Four In Hand. Seldom seen this
method should not be counted out. Simply fold the scarf is half, much in
the way to the wraparound method. Then again drape around your neck
with the loop on one side and the ends on the other side. Now pull only
one of the ends through the loop. Then you will want to twist the loop
and then pull the other end of the scarf through the loop. You're done,
just adjust as needed!
